Brooke and Tristans Wedding

 The seas at Kalithea Spa

We had a lazy morning, sleeping in and then finding an omlette breakfast on the beachfront. Of course by noon, Brooke was having her hair done and soon everyone was dressing up for the wedding. The ceremony itself was at Kalithea Spa right along the seashore. The spa itself is being reconstructed, but the setting for the wedding was nearby in a large rotunda open to the sky. The weather though it threatened rain, was just cloudy. It was a short but nice ceremony. Karen read the traditional reading from Colossians, and Megan a dinosaur story about true love. It was an emotional moment as Brooke and Tristan recited their vows, followed by their official signing of the registrar. After taking pictures, we were ready to throw confetti as the bride and groom left the rotunda, but no one had brought any. So we picked leaves and flower petals from the surrounding plants and made due with a shower of those.

Then it was on to the reception at Tsambikos Taverena, located again along the seashore. The sun decided it was time to come out, so while it was cool with the wind, we had a beautiful bright setting. The meal was quite filling with several styles of salad and four varieties of meats. Then we had a great time as we were entertained by two Greek dancers. They managed to get most of the guests dancing along with them trying to do the traditional dances. After getting us all in the mood, we danced into the night with lots of beer and wine. Everyone had a good time and drank freely, since no one had to drive home. At midnight the bus took us home.
