We started our day at America's Car Museum. This place
brings together several car collections. I particularly enjoy seeing the
handcrafted cars from the early 20th century, they are well
represented here. Of course, they also have the more familiar makes of cars
from the 20s through the 60s. The placards on the autos would explain the
unique features of each auto. An especially interesting section of the museum
was about Route 66 – the unique diners, motels, and attractions that encouraged
vacationers to travel by car.

In the afternoon, we went to the Museum of Glass. Here we
saw more Chihuly works and those by other artists. The museum would have been
a disappointment because their main gallery was closed for a change in
exhibits. But they also have a hot shot here, where they are creating glass
pieces. We spent a fascinating hour watching all the work they put into create
a large flask shaped bottle. That evening we had a steak and salmon dinner at
Dick and Char's and daughter Julie joined us.
